InMe - Firefly
"Firefly" is the second single by Essex alternative rock band InMe. The 2002 song starts off very melodic with guitar harmonics and a drum and bass driven verse. It then progresses to a heavier pre-chorus/chorus. The chorus and breakdown have the repetitive lyric "It's all over now / You've killed me". Grab the hottest Inme merch around click here.

Inme Biography
InMe are a British heavy alternative rock group from Brentwood, Essex. The bands line-up consists of Dave McPherson (vocals/guitar), Greg McPherson (bass/additional vocals), Simon Taylor (drums), and Gazz Marlow (guitar). To date InMe have released 4 highly successful studio albums (and a “Best Of”), spawning a number of Top 40 UK singles and years of touring and playing great shows and festivals around the UK, Europe and the world.
Phoenix: The Best of InMe was released on Monday 27th September and featured 3 songs from each previous album, along with 3 new tracks. Kerrang awarded the album 4/5 and Phoenix went in at #26 in the UK rock chart.
HISTORY
The group formed in 1996 as ‘Drowned’ but changed their name to ‘InMe’ after signing with MFN in 2001 as they decided that there were too many bands with a similar name. Joe Morgan came up with the name after being asked where the music came from.
When Music for Nations was dissolved in a large company buy out, InMe signed to V2 and created their own label Pandora’s Box.
In July 2006, Joe Morgan left the band to pursue a different career, and was replaced by Greg McPherson (Dave’s younger brother) of Centiment. In August 2006, InMe released “Caught:White Butterfly”, a live album, documenting their show at the Astoria on December 17th 2005. The accompanying DVD was released on October 9th.
August 2007 saw the return of InMe on tour to promote new single I Won’t Let Go, released on August 20th, taken from the upcoming album Daydream Anonymous which was released on September 10th alongside another promotion tour.
In 2008, InMe added a new guitarist to their list of members - Ben Konstantinovic. On June 1, the band uploaded the track “Belief Revival” (taken from the upcoming album Herald Moth) to their MySpace page. Before official announcement fans speculated about which song from Herald Moth will be released as the first single, with many fans believing it to be the track entitled “Single of the Weak”.
On 4th June 2009, speculation was then ended with a circular message sent to members of the InMe mailing list from InMe management. The email stated that the single will indeed be “Single of the Weak” and announced the release date to be 10th August 2009. This was then changed on the 15th July when band member Greg McPherson announced the release date had moved to 17th August 2009 with a post on the official forums. Fans are still eagerly awaiting its release.
On 29 June 2009, the band’s MySpace page showed the album artwork for Herald Moth, as well as a release date of 31 August.
Herald Moth was released on 14th September through Graphite Records. It reached #68 in the UK chart.
On October 13 2009 InMe announced the departure of second guitarist Ben Konstantinovic in a myspace blog stating - Me, Greg & Si have come to the decision to continue without Ben in the band. This was a hard choice to make as we’re all good friends but InMe requires a level of absolute commitment that Ben couldn’t give. I sat down & personally discussed it all with Ben & it was totally amicable & open. He is an amazing guitarist & it’s a pleasure performing with him & I’ll continue to do so outside of InMe. We will remain a 3 piece for the foreseeable future & will not be rushing into anything. The album is doing well & things are on the up! We wish Ben the best of luck with all his other musical ventures.
Dave - InMe
On 1st February 2010, after much speculation by fans of the band, Dave McPherson announced the new guitarist as Gazz Marlow: ” Very pleased to announce that Gary Marlow is the new 2nd guitarist for InMe. Looking forward to taking over the world with you brother “
The band toured as a 4-piece again in February 2010’s “Revival Tour”, staring in the UK and then visiting Germany, Belgium and Holland, culminating in two shows with Fightstar, alternating headlining duties. The next tour was called the “All Terrain Armada Tour” and included England, Scotland and Wales through May & June 2010 with a stretch of 21 consecutive dates.
InMe headlined the Strongbow Stage at Sonisphere Festival on Saturday 31st July, which reached capacity at 1,500 and left several hundred fans watching from outside. The band are confirmed to appear at Germany’s Summer Breeze Festival, mainstage on August 20th.
