All Time Low Bio
All Time Low is an pop punk band from Lutherville-Timonium, Maryland, formed in 2003. The band comprises lead vocalist Alex Gaskarth, guitarist Jack Barakat, bassist Zack Merrick , and drummer Rian Dawson. The name All Time Low is taken from lyrics from the song "Head On Collision" by New Found Glory.
All Time Low has released two studio albums in over five years as a band, both with the current lineup. The band signed their first record deal in 2004 with Emerald Moon Records; this was followed by their first release, the EP The Three Words to Remember in Dealing with the End. The year following, they released their debut studio album The Party Scene, also on Emerald Moon.
The band was still in high school when they signed to Hopeless Records in 2006. Hopeless released the EP Put Up or Shut Up in 2006, which became the band's first charting record, after coming in at number 20 on the US Top Independent Albums chart. In 2007 they released So Wrong, It's Right, their second album and most commercially successful, peaking at number 62 on the Billboard 200 and number 6 on the Top Independent Albums chart. Their second single from the album, "Dear Maria, Count Me In", is their only charting single, peaking at number 86 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Early
In 2003 Alex Gaskarth and Jack Barakat co-founded the band. Shortly after starting the band, they recruited Rian Dawson as the drummer and Zack Merrick as the bassist. The band was formed while the members were still in high school. During school breaks, the band would tour the east and south coast. About a year after starting the band, they signed with Emerald Moon Records. On October 1, 2004 the band released their 4 song EP The Three Words to Remember in Dealing with the End on Emerald Moon Records. Almost a year after releasing their first EP they released their first full-length studio album, The Party Scene also on Emerald Moon Records.
2006-Present
On Valentine's Day 2006, just months before the band graduated from high school, they signed with Hopeless Records. After signing with Hopeless Records the band released an EP titled Put Up or Shut Up on July 25, 2006. Put Up or Shut Up contained newly recorded versions of songs from their previous studio album The Party Scene along with two new tracks. After extensive touring and promoting to support Put Up or Shut Up the band began recording their next full length studio album,So Wrong, It's Right. Since the release of the album, the band has quickly gained popularity, eventually making their TRL debut on February 12, 2008. The band has also been featured on MTV's Discover And Download, Music Choice's Fresh Crops, and have also been added to MTV's Big Ten, and MTV Hits playlist. On March 7, 2008 All Time Low made their live television debut on Jimmy Kimmel Live!. In between tours they are currently writing for their new album and they have revealed in an interview that one of the songs will include ex-Blink 182, now +44 bassist Mark Hoppus. Alex has lent his voice to musicians such as Sing it Loud's "No One Can Touch Us" and the Ace Enders cover of Bittter Sweet Symphony
