Afro Celt Sound System - When you're Falling
"When You're Falling" is a song by world music group Afro Celt Sound System, released as the first single from the band's third studio album Volume 3: Further in Time. The song features vocals from British singer Peter Gabriel. The song was one of the band's biggest hits and received good amounts of airplay in the U.S. The song's music video, directed by Adam Berg, features a man falling from the sky until he eventually falls through the ground, where he continues to fall until he eventually falls out of Earth. The song is one of the songs listed on Clear Channel's list of "songs with questionable lyrics" following the September 11, 2001 attacks. Afro Celt Sound System Biography
The Afro Celt Sound System is a musical group which fuses modern electronic dance rhythms (trip-hop, techno, etc.) with traditional Irish (Celtic) and West African music. It was formed by Grammy-nominated producer-guitarist Simon Emmerson, and is considered to be something of a world music supergroup, often featuring a wide range of guest artists on their albums.Their albums have been released through Peter Gabriel's Real World Records, and they have been cited as the second best-selling band on the label, exceeded in sales only by Gabriel himself. Their striking live performances have often been the highlights of the WOMAD concert festivals. They signed a contract with Real World for five albums, of which the 2005 release Anatomic was the last.
After a number of festival dates in 2007, the band went on hiatus. In 2010, they regrouped to play a number of shows (including a return to WOMAD) and announced a new album, Capture.
